Seongkyun Kim (EQMaker) began his career as a live sound engineer in 1998, and since 2005, he has continued his path as a broadcast playout and media transmission engineer. From the field of content production to broadcast playout and transmission, and from analog systems to IP-based media environments, he has proposed and realized new concepts through the convergence of media and communication technologies, based on a broad understanding of the entire field of broadcast media and information and communication technology.
He successfully launched Korea’s first HD playout outsourcing service and commercialized a real-time IP broadcast distribution network. He has also carried out projects including the design and deployment of an IPTV service for an overseas national telecommunications company, the export of a playout system, the design of a satellite broadcast platform headend, and the development of IP-based broadcast receivers. He continues his dedicated journey as a passionate engineer in the broadcast media technology field.
In his free time, he enjoys going up to open rooftops and looking out over the surroundings. He is also a father of two children who seem to have inherited that same love of wide-open views, and who ask for piggyback rides on his shoulders every day.
